Barney’s Club (named after Saint Barnabas) will run each Thursday during schools terms from 3.30pm to 5.15pm, beginning this Thursday at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Lang Street.
“We’re so excited to be able to offer this to children and families,” Anglican parish priest Fr. Chris Jackson said.
“We’ll have games, Bible stories, crafts and afternoon tea. It’s all about fun and faith!”
The youth group is being run as a partnership between the Catholic and Anglican churches as part of their service to the local community.
“Our two churches share a lot in common,” Catholic parish priest Fr. Tony Potts said.
“We’re delighted to be able to come together to share in this ministry.
“It’s wonderful to see our churches working together to offer this youth group to children.”
Barney’s Club is open to all children of primary school age. A gold coin donation is appreciated. Those interested in attending may come along on Thursdays.
A Barney’s service for adults also runs at the Anglican church from 4pm on Sundays with live music, Bible teaching and pizza.
