The Cessnock Hornets Women’s A-grade squad kept their season alive with a 4-0 win over Cardiff in the minor semi-final at Rutherford on Sunday.

In wet conditions, Cessnock took an early lead with Kirsty O’Neill finding the back of the net.
Emma Stevenson followed with a tidy goal shortly thereafter to go to the half-time break 2-0.
Cardiff came out and played competitively but to no avail.
Cessnock continued to dominate with both Jess Gallen and Molly Abbot slotting away goals to make the final score 4-0.
Players’ player went to Kirsty O’Neill for her outstanding effort across the park.
The Hornets women will travel to Birralee Oval on Sunday at 3pm to compete in the final against competition heavyweights Mayfield.
