Hot off their success in 2014, Monique Montez, Danielle Barnes and band are back and are bringing the music of some of the best divas with them, including Liza Minelli, Cher, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand and more.
Enjoy timeless classics from a multitude of music genres in an exciting and fun trip down memory lane.
Directed by Cessnock’s own Nigel Turner-Carroll, and co-written by Nigel and Monique, the Divas are looking forward to returning to the town.
“It’s a bit of a sentimental gig for us,” Monique said.
And audiences should be excited too, with “hit after hit after hit,” a talented seven-piece band and a massive 122 costume pieces for the show.
While the show was very successful last year, there have been a few changes from last time such as extra songs and different costumes to make it even better, and to give the fans something different.
“We’ve changed a few things around,” Monique said, “listened to everyone’s requests.
“We’re always trying to improve and make the show better than it can be.”
It’s not just your standard tribute show either, with Monique having performed for Sir Richard Branson and Baz Luhrmann and in shows such as Saturday Night Fever and We Will Rock You. She also won Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2014 Australian Club Entertainment Awards.
Danielle has performed internationally too and in some of the biggest musical productions including Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Beauty and the Beast and The Boy from Oz in a career spanning over 23 years.
