Cessnock trainer Jeremy Sylvester shared the honours with Newcastle’s Paul Perry while Robert Thompson claimed the jockey’s premiership trophy made by The Advertiser.
The award capped off yet another great season for Thompson, who was inducted into Australian Racing’s Hall of Fame in May and was awarded an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in June.
Englishwoman Rachel King, who is attached to the Gai Waterhouse stable, took out the apprentice’s trophy made by Cessnock Leagues Club.
