Sisters Chloe and Emily Formosa (aged 10 and eight) were named champion riders in their age divisions at the Coonabarabran Horse Sports event two weeks ago, and six-year-old Macy Langworthy was the reserve champion in her age group.
The Coonabarabran competition went for two days, with events including cross country, showjumping, hack and rider classes, dressage, polo cross, stockman’s challenges and sporting events.
More than 200 riders took part, ranging from Central Coast schools to as far as New England Girls Grammar School (Armidale).
Chloe and Emily’s mother, Kirsty Formosa said the girls travel far and wide to represent their school in the sport they love, with the support of school principal Sue Sims, who encourages them to participate.
“It gives them confidence in life and it shows in their school work,” Kirsty said.
