The days for tennis get more interesting each week, with the change of weather patterns, maybe the climate change has arrived and we should really worry, as more tennis days will be washed out or blown away.

The usual ladies played on Tuesday and on Wednesday we started with a nice morning but we had to contend with Terry as he had been watching Andy Murray play the Davis Cup and he endeavoured to show us the intricate shots played.
Between him and the wind, which arrived about 9.30am, it became very interesting. But Beryl could counteract his play and was the winner for the morning.
Friday for the senior men was again put off with more showers and wet courts.
Will O’Neil was able to hold the junior tennis camp on Thursday but Friday was delayed with showers but play did continue later in the morning. It was good to see over 40 players interested in learning the finer points of play, and I hope they continue to join in coaching on Saturday or join in the night competition.
Before school went into recess grading nights were held as there were new players interested in joining in the new competition.
When play restarts on October 16 teams will be formed.
Any players who have not given Nancy their names, it is not too late, but have your name to her no later than October 14. Ring her on 4990 5101 or 0402 320 141 and you will be included in a team for the draw.
On the weekend of October 10 and 11 the State 10-and-Under Junior Championships will be played at Cessnock, with teams of four with coaches and managers to put them through play which is over two days.
These players are interesting to watch and it is always hoped that in the years ahead maybe they will be playing for Australia.
The ladies will be in action in the canteen to keep the players energy in top condition for play. Now we can only hope for a warmer and drier two days.
