Maitland Basketball Stadium will be the venue for the event, which is set to be the first of its kind in the Maitland area.
Spectators will witness local players Cessnock Goannas’ Shaun Metcalf and Kurri Bulldogs’ Luke Mercer face off against competitors from Kotara and Sydney, and a clash of the Coalfields between Cessnock’s Mick Deacon and Kurri’s Terence Seu Seu.
Goannas forward Brendan Hlad was set to appear in the event but has had to withdraw due to injury.
Event organiser Ben Crampton said he was approached by a few of the players following the match between Hlad and Kurri’s Daniel Abraham several years ago.
Metcalf and Deacon have been training with Crampton at his Quorrobolong gym and Mercer and Seu Seu have been preparing at Lantry Boxing at Weston.
Crampton said the players have all been training very hard, and have been able to transfer some of their football skills into the ring.
“They’re good all-round athletes,” he said.
“They all keep themselves fit.”
While it will be a new challenge for the players, Crampton said they are all excited and raring for the opportunity.
“All the boys have shown good sportsmanship and can’t wait to experience what it’s like to be a boxer,” he said.
Crampton said that following the Hunter Jeep Fight Night, he is hoping to organise a further two shows at Maitland Basketball Stadium in 2016.
Tickets are available for the fight night at Peden’s Hotel and at www.stickytickets.com.au.
