Melbourne Cup is here and it’s time to drag out those frocks, dust off those suits and lock in those venues for the race that stops the nation.

The George Tavern – Melbourne Cup Ladies’ Day from 11am. Photo booth, prized for best dressed and afternoon entertainment following the race.
The Bradford Hotel – In the Main Bar. Prizes for best dressed and Ollie Band playing from 3.30pm.
Commercial Hotel Morpeth – Four-course luncheon @ Miss Mullen’s Bar (upstairs on the Verandah) plus a fashion parade with local designer Katie Maree. Main bar entertainment, best dressed and best hat .
East Maitland Bowling Club Luncheon – Scarborough Function Centre with entertainment by Norm Bakker.
Windsor Castle – Entertainment from Zac and Ben from 1.30pm. Ladies: free bubbles on arrival. Men: Free Mystery Tri with first beer. Plenty of prizes. Courtesy bus from 11am.
Telarah Bowling Club – Luncheon featuring Super Hubert.
The Pourhouse - A bubble bar, cocktails, craft beer and eight courses of canapes. Sweeps and best dressed prizes. $50 tickets include two sparkling cocktails and canapes. The party starts at midday.
King Bills IV - Celebrate the return of the king from 11.30am with a $30 ticket that includes a glass of sparkling or moscato and a long grazing lunch. $2, $5 and $10 sweeps and cocktail specials.
Bushrangers Bar and Brasserie Largs - $45 three-course luncheon with a free glass of Tyrell’s sparkling. $100 voucher, Tyrell’s hampers and other prizes up for grabs, best dressed competitions, sweeps and full TAB facilities.
Lorn Park Bowling Club - Ticketed $50 seafood luncheon, live music, sweeps and games, best dressed prizes and a fashion parade. Tickets include a free bottle of champagne per table.
Maitland Leagues Club - $15 per plate buffet, calcutta raffle, fashion parade, free hand massages, plenty of prizes and sweeps and full TAB facilities.
Maitland Park Bowling Club - Bistro and bubbly at the bowling club in the park.
Club Maitland City - Roy Cooper will host the Ruby Room Cabaret with a two-course meal and a complimentary drink for $18. Prizes for best hat and best dressed . Guest entertainment by Steve St Clair.
Shenanigans - Five screens to see the big race while holding a pint of the black drink.
