About 50 people attended the Cessnock Sisterhood’s Christmas Collection at Hope Valley Christian Church’s Front Room on Friday night.

The event raised $2000 for the Cessnock Combined Churches Christmas Lunch, a free event on Christmas Day for people who are lonely or needy.
Non-perishable items were also collected on the night, to be donated to the Salvation Army for its Christmas hampers.
FUN: Sophie Hollis, Mackenzie Smith, Emily Whipps, Miranda Davis and Cassandra Noon won the gingerbread house decorating competition at the Cessnock Sisterhood’s Christmas Collection night.
