The Kurri round will be part of a series of amateur events being held at skate parks across Australia.
Registrations open from 12pm midday for BMX riders and 2.30pm for skateboarders to pull out their best lazer flips, ollies, 360s and McTwists as they compete to be champion of their region.
The winners of the amateur events will progress to the NSW finals to be held in Swansea in January, when they will compete for a spot in the national finals in Melbourne.
Cessnock Youth Centre and Outreach Service coordinator Will Doran said the Skate Park League offers all skaters and riders with the chance to test their skills at the highest level.
“Skate leagues have been making headlines in the US for quite a few years and now we’re able to bring the same excitement, opportunities for skaters, BMX and scooter riders to develop their talents right here in the area,” Mr Doran said.
All are welcome to come watch the action and join in the community fun.
