With the traditional grudge match between Mulbring and Bellbird washed out at Mulbring Oval, Supporters claimed an important seven points in what was the only first grade game played.
Sent in to bat in difficult conditions, the Goannas posted a very competitive 149 on the two-paced pitch.
Andrew Fensom smacked 40, Mick Gates was next best with 26, meanwhile Rosco O’Connell (23), skipper Nathan Stapleford (20no) and Chris Lewis (16) all kept things moving nicely.
Brent Watson was the pick of the Greta/Branxton attack with 4-31 off 10, with Martin Shearer (2-44 off 10) and Andrew Bercini (2-27 off 10) picking up a brace of wickets each.
The Blues capitulated in reply and at one stage were 8-42, however a fighting 56-run ninth-wicket stand between Nathan Holz (30) and Marco Turkalj (27) gave them just a glimmer of hope. However their departures in pretty quick succession saw the visitors all out in the 35th over for 102. Darren Holz was the only other batsman in double figures with 13.
Former softball whiz Justin Brown was the pick of the Supporters attack with 3-22 off 10, with Nathan Stapleford (2-15 off 8), Tim Goldman (2-11 off 5) and Paul Wright (2-37 off 7) all supporting well.
