Morris said despite Magic’s reputation it was a game the young Bears could have and should have won.
The Bears were able to secure a point thanks to a penalty save by goalkeeper Ben Kelly, but Morris said his team should have been on the scoreboard before then.
“It was a great save by Benny but I don’t think it should ever have been a penalty,” Bears veteran Nathan Morris said.
“It was just a contest and the bigger man won out because of his strength.
“I am disappointed we didn’t get the three points as we certainly had the better of possession and chances in the first half.

“It evened out possession wise in the second half, but we again had better chances.
“We worked out butts off and pressed hard for long periods. We had the better of them for most of the game apart from about 10 minutes at the end.”
The under 22s lost 5-1 with Jacob Golding getting the Bears goal.
But again it was a game of lost opportunities. The Bears led 1-0 and should have been three or four in front before falling away badly.
Weston’s under 19s won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Tristan Muir.
The seniors travel to Hamilton Olympic this Saturday with first grade kicking off at 6pm.
On Saturday the four Bears Youth team played Valentine with the under 17s losing 3-2. The under 15s had a 2-2 draw, under 14s won 5-0 and the 13s lost 3-1.
The youth teams are at Speers Point this Sunday for round seven against The Emerging Jets.
Abermain Hawks beaten on bell
The Abermain-Weston Hawks were beaten on the bell by the undefeated Kotara on Saturday.
The Hawks led 14-4 at half-time and looked to be in control, but the game turned around in the second half.
With the penalty count mounting (18-4 against the Hawks), Kotara got on a roll and scored a couple of tries.
It was still 18-16 the Hawks' way but after three more penalties, Kotara scored on the bell to seal the victory.
Players' player for the Hawks was Adam Stinson; man-of-the-match was Daniel Murray and the coach's award went to Kerryn Ball.
The Hawks will take on Stockton at home on Saturday, with kick-off at the new time of 3pm.
