Anna, 11, has been painting for over four years and her art endeavours have flourished.
She was thrilled to receive the scholarship, which will enable her to take extra time in weekly art classes this year under the direction of local artist, Sandii Walker.
Her mother Elena said her home is filled Anna’s artworks.
“I love surrounding myself with her paintings, they make me happy and I love seeing the enjoyment Anna receives while creating a new piece,” Ms Milson said.
“I believe she has paint in her blood as her father’s side is very artistic and her aunt Kathleen McCue is a well-known artist in Grenfell are in Central West.
“The scholarship has provided Anna with a further opportunity to develop her artistic skills and although she is still very young, her artworks are proof of her talent that could potentially become a lifelong career.”
Variety supports Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or who have special needs.
Anna, who is hearing-impaired, is one of 59 children and organisations in NSW who received a Variety 2016 Scholarship, which were awarded to children who have demonstrated success and commitment in sport, drama, music or academia.
