Local organisations involved in arts and cultural activities within the Cessnock local government area were invited to apply for the annual program in February 2016.
This year’s recipients range from Wollombi’s Sculpture in the Vineyards to the Kurri Quills Writer’s Group and the Branxton Umbrella Festival
Cessnock Mayor Bob Pynsent congratulated all recipients and said the funding is critical to the survival of many of these community-based organisations and their associated events.
“The grants are provided on a dollar for dollar basis, that is, up to a maximum of 50 per cent of the cost of the project or improvements to facilities,” Cr Pynsent said.
All successful projects are to be completed by December 31, 2016.
Applications are accepted from organisations based outside the Cessnock LGA for projects of benefit to residents, but priority is given to locally based organisations.
Further information on the program is available at www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au/dollarfordollar.
