The squad was called last Sunday to catch a yellow-faced whip snake from a telecommunications pit, found by a technician.
The next day volunteers were called to catch a red-bellied black snake from the inside of a car’s engine bay. Both snakes were release back in to the wild away from houses.
On Thursday afternoon, the squad was called to help remove two kangaroos that had become trapped inside a deep hole.
While packing up from the kangaroo rescue, a pager call came through for a persons-trapped accident at Testers Hollow.
The squad helped extricate a woman from her vehicle by removing the driver’s door. The woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
