But when her grandfather Len was diagnosed with terminal cancer, the 12-year-old starting thinking about the ways she could help people.
Holly will have her long locks chopped off to make a wig for Variety – the Children’s Charity.
Holly is also raising funds for The Orange Pigeon, a charity that grants wishes to adults who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
Len Adams, who lived in Cessnock for many years before retiring to Smith’s Lake, passed away on March 14.
His family put forward an application to the Orange Pigeon for a however he passed away before it could be coordinated.
However, all he wanted was his family by his side – and they were.
Holly said she is doing the fundraiser to make her Pop proud.
“Ever since Pop was diagnosed and passed away, I wanted to do something to help,” the St Philip’s Christian College student said.
The big chop will take place at Fuse Gallery in Cessnock on June 4 at 10am.
