P-plate driver over the alcohol limit

The 19-year-old driver, who is the holder of a red P Licence was found to have an alcohol reading 0.019 in her blood, when as a novice driver she was required to have no alcohol whatsoever.
The driver informed police she had been drinking alcohol earlier in the night.
Novice drivers should be aware that it can take many hours for alcohol to leave your blood stream. Extreme care should be taken.
The driver will now be attending Kurri Kurri Court.
At nearly the same time a 19-year-old male P-plate driver was detected in Lindsay Street, Cessnock with the low range level of alcohol.
Possession of house-breaking implements
In the early hours on Sunday morning police stopped a searched a 13-year-old boy in the Cessnock CBD.
It is alleged the boy was found to be in possession of implements that could be used to break into premises.
The boy has now been charged and will be attending Cessnock Court.
Hotel windows broken
Late of Saturday night a 42-year-old man was turned out of an Abermain hotel for being intoxicated.
It is alleged the man took exception to this and smashed two windows of the hotel with a large stick.
The man was detained by hotel patrons until police arrived and he was arrested. He too will be at Cessnock Court.
Stolen firearm located in Abermain
Last Wednesday police attended an Abermain house in relation to an inquiry.
Whilst there police allegedly located a .22 calibre rifle behind a door and not being stored in the correct manner.
Further inquiries have revealed the rifle had been stolen from a address in Grafton in 2015.
Police are still carrying out inquiries into the matter but in the meantime the firearm has been confiscated and taken out of public domain.
