Liberal candidate for Paterson Karen Howard made the announcement at the ground, in the centre of the Labor heartland, on Saturday.
Funds have been identified for the refurbishment of the northern grandstands at the ground, improvements to the adjoining broadcast box, installation of seating in the John Sattler Stand and refurbishement of the dressing rooms.
“This project will ensure the Kurri Kurri Bulldogs have a home ground and facilities to help them compete and succeed both on and off the field,” Ms Howard said the commitment if the Coalition government is re-elected.
“I’ve been working closely with the Bulldgos who recently invited me to tour their facilities. During my visit they outlined how important these works are to the future success of their club.”
Bulldogs secretary Jeff Polglase said the club welcomed the funding commitment.
“It will upgrade out outdated facilities bringing them to a standard befitting the sporting and wider community’s needs,” he said.
Kurri Kurri is now part of the Paterson electorate after being moved from sitting Hunter MP Joel Fitzgibbon’s seat in an electorate redistribution.
