Wallet found
Last Wednesday an honest Cessnock citizen located a wallet on the footpath in Vincent Street, Cessnock.

The finder brought the wallet, which contained in excess of $100 cash, into the police station and fortunately we were able to give it back to its owner. Well done to that citizen.
Ice located
Early on Tuesday morning police stopped a vehicle for RBT In Buckland Avenue, Cessnock.
Police found that the 38-year-old male driver was in fact an unlicensed driver, not having a licence since 2012.
Police became suspicious and searched the vehicle, allegedly finding a small quantity of the prohibited drug methyl amphetamine, commonly known as “ice”.
The driver will now be attending Cessnock Court.
Stealing from unlocked vehicle
Last Sunday a woman parked her vehicle in Cooper Street, Cessnock and left the vehicle unlocked.
In the two hours the woman was away from her vehicle an unknown offender entered the car and stole $160 in cash.
Unfortunately, police have not been able to locate the offender.
Thefts from cars have diminished in Cessnock over the last month but motorists are reminded to remove valuables and lock their vehicle every time they leave it. Do not make it easy for criminals.
Disqualified rider
Police have been carrying out patrols of Cessnock and Weston as a response to complaints by the public about unregistered motorbikes being ridden around.
These patrols have been made in marked and unmarked police vehicles.
On Wednesday afternoon police stopped a rider in Fourth Street, Weston after there was an issue with the registration plate of the cycle.
It was subsequently found the registration was in order but the 46-year-old rider was disqualified from riding until 2023 due to previous driving offences.
Fail to move on
Police have the powers to direct people to leave a location if their behaviour warrants it.
This occurred last Sunday when an intoxicated man was at a fast-food outlet in Cessnock acting in a aggressive manner and swearing at people.
Police attended and directed the man to leave. After some time the man did leave but later returned and continued his behaviour.
Police returned and issued the man a fine for $550 for disobeying a direction.
he man allegedly abused police, threw his ticket on the ground and walked off.
The man was subsequently issued an infringement notice for littering.
