The Australian-based organisation provides holistic care for orphans and vulnerable children in the poverty-stricken township of Mityana, Uganda.

Abermain Public School was treated to a wonderful experience back in term two, when the 100% Hope choir visited the school and performed at a special assembly.

The children shared about their lives and the culture in Uganda and played with students in the playground during lunch.

The organisation owns 11.5 acres of land known as Hope Village where it is building homes for children, a primary school, and sustainability projects such as a piggery and agriculture.

The charity is run by Australian volunteers, overseen by Gold Coast teacher Trishelle Sayuuni, who lives on the ground in Mityana with her family.

The choir that recently visited Australia raised money to build their next five primary classrooms.

Abermain Public School raised $440 for the organisation on Tuesday, when students dressed out-of-uniform, wrote 100% Hope on the ground in chalk and filled the writing with coins.

“Abermain Public School is excited to support 100% Hope and assist with the funds to construct new buildings in Uganda and to develop new friends in this project,” assistant principal Kerry Hodges said.
