The awards held last week saw the Cessnock Youth Week Organising Committee take out the Best Local Youth Week Program 2016.
Cessnock City Council general manager Stephen Glen congratulated all involved in putting the event together.
“This is a fantastic result, reflecting the hard work and can do attitude of all those involved in the program,” Mr Glen said.
“It was clear Youth Week was a hit amongst locals with youth participation reaching a record high of 1800 young people”, Mr Glen said.
The 2016 Youth Week was a collaborative effort between community organisations, local businesses, the Cessnock Youth Entertainment Committee and other local young people.
