More than 600 entries received from 70 wine makers were judged by a panel of local, national and international judges at Lone Pine Barracks, Singleton.
Award-winning wine blogger Matt Walls is the international judge this year.
The United Kingdom born blogger has worked for Bollinger Champagne, managed and bought wines for The Sampler, and published, ‘Drink Me’, which has sold over 10,000 copies.
Matt joined local judges PJ Charteris, Russel Cody, Matt Burton and Liz Silkman in deciding the winners of 33 different classes.
Judging was held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with 25 trophies to be awarded at a celebration luncheon on Friday at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Marquee.
The Hunter Valley Wine Show is considered one of the leading wine shows in Australia and has been held continuously since 1974.
