Queensland's Zaine Kennedy went into the day with a share of the lead but an indifferent performance meant he failed to qualify for either the A or B Final.
Added to that was the absence of co-leader Alan MacDonald and the challengers pounced.
Taylor Poole (Central Coast) won the A Final from Josh Pickering (Heddon Greta) and Kieran Sproule (Sydney) was third.
Pickering's points haul has taken him to the top of the leader board and well positioned to take out the championship with one round to be contested.
Dual World Under 16 Speedway Solo Champion, Mathew Gilmore faced an early challenge from Cessnock's Isaac Hawes, but showed his class to go on to win the round of the Junior 250cc solo
A move from Western Australia to Mildura, in Victoria, is paying dividends for Junior 125cc solo rider Connor Bailey.
The trip to Kurri Kurri on Saturday was made all the worth while when Bailey won the Junior 125cc division.
Defending club champion, Jack Miles from Kurri Kurri was second to Bailey to maintain his lead in the championship place.
The final round of the club championship will be held on Saturday, September 3, incorporating the 2016 Todd Wiltshire Trophy for Junior 125cc solos.
