Dr Jordan Nguyen visited as part of National Science Week, which ran from August 13-21.
Dr Nguyen spoke about an accident in a swimming pool which inspired him to create the wheelchair.
Coming close to suffering permanent damage, Dr Nguyen found a motivation to help people who were not as lucky to recover as him.
Dr Nguyen also spoke to the children about setting goals, and not letting barriers get in their way.
“We tell ourselves about what we can and can’t do,” he said. “It’s about setting up goals [and] taking action on those aspirations.”
Dr Nguyen said the students were very responsive and asked great questions.
