With this in mind the Australian Government has taken action with the recent rollout of the new Transition to Work service.
Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions (MWLFS) have been selected as the exclusive service provider for Cessnock, Maitland and Kurri Kurri and will continue to roll the program out for the next four years. The specialist employment service is available to young people aged 15-21, who aren’t working or studying and who live in the Maitland, Cessnock or Kurri Kurri areas.
The experienced MWLFS team work, as always, closely with employers to understand their specific needs and to explore work experience and employment opportunities.

The team will only match the participants to roles they have a genuine interest in, to ensure the most successful outcome for both. They will even provide a post-placement support service to ensure the expectations of both the employer and participant are understood and met.

Jessie is a 21 year old woman from the Cessnock area. She’s skilled and available right now. Jessie has her RSA and RCG, retail and customer service experience and even has her Certificate III in Animal Studies. She is passionate about animals, dedicated to her family and easy to get along with. Jessie is hard working, determined, flexible, punctual and eager to get to work.
Brad is a 20-year-old Maitland local. He has his HSC, RSA and considerable experience working in hospitality, customer service and food handling. He enjoys working in a fast-paced, team environment and is calm in high pressure situations. While Brad’s long-term career goals include working at one of the Hunter Valley’s prestigious wineries, he is ready and available to take on any role in the hospitality industry to work towards his dream job and financial independence.
