The result takes Doyle into second place on the world series board, cutting American Greg Hancock’s lead to seven.
With four round remaining in the series, Doyle leads Woffinden by one point, with former Aussie world champion Chris Holder fourth.
The championship is looking like it could come down to the last race in Melbourne, a prospect that has Novacastrian Doyle excited but determined not to look too far ahead.
“It would be a dream come true to come to Melbourne and win the title,” Doyle told MCNews.com.au after the race.
“But it’s going to be very hard to keep up these points. I know it’s a long way, so we’re just enjoying it.”
Doyle said his second grand prix win, after June’s breakthrough title in the Czech Republic, had been hard work
“I knew Tai was getting around the kerb very fast. He passed me in the semis and I was thinking ‘oh no, not again!’,” he said.
“I had to go three laps on the fence. I picked up some speed and went wide again on the last corner. To get it on the finish was an amazing feeling. I couldn’t believe it.
“What a great night. To win in Gorzow is very special because they have so many fast Polish boys. Iversen and Zagar ride here week in, week out too. It was going to be tough, so I was happy with scoring a few points and getting to the semi.
“I’m not sure why anyone didn’t take gate one for the final. When I rocked up there, it was prime.”
Doyle has had a magnificent season riding with Swindon Robins in the British Elite League, with Pelaw Main’s Rohand Tungate, and Polish team Zielona Gora.
The next round of the series is in Germany on September 10.
