FlyingfoxEngage is being conducted by Cessnock City Council in a partnership with the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, Department of Industry – Lands.
Cessnock City Council general manager, Stephen Glen said council was working closely with agencies, land managers and other stakeholders to develop a management plan for the camp.
He said the survey would support their decision on the plan.
“We recognise the proximity of the camp to homes, businesses and the primary school has caused concerns within the community, particularly for those directly adjacent the camp,” Mr Glen said.
“FlyingfoxEngage is a quick and easy way for residents to share their views.”
The online survey provides information about flying-fox behaviour, the complexity of each option and strategies under consideration.
The survey asks users to rank a series of questions from not important to extremely important and based on the answers generates a tailored list of management options.
The survey takes about five to 10 minutes to complete. Visit http://www.flyingfoxengage.com/eastcessnock to complete the survey.
