The event kicked off with a lantern parade that made its way from Cessnock Performing Arts Centre, down Vincent Street and Cooper Street to the TAFE grounds, where the crowd enjoyed live entertainment, children’s activities, food and drink and warm fires and laser lights.
The Advertiser is running a photo competition to find the best snaps from the festival.
Simply take a picture, email it to cessnock@fairfaxmedia.com.au, send it to us on Facebook, tag us on Instagram or use the #SpringAwakeningCessnock on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter before midnight Sunday, September 11 for your chance to win.
Photos must be set to public if using the hashtag or tagging The Advertiser’s account.
The photo with the most amount of votes on the Advertiser’s website will score a family pass to The Listies 6D or tickets to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow next year at CPAC.
