With Rotary Park in the centre of Kurri Kurri awash with rain, organisers quickly moved the festival to the nearby Kurri Kurri Public School.

Their efforts were worth it and rewarded with hundreds going through the gates to enjoy some good old fashioned family fun.

Music, dancing and a marvellous performance by the Weston Pre School youngsters were among the highlights.

The fun continues through Saturday until 9pm with a free screening of the family movie Zooptopia from sunset.
