A Kurri Kurri charity bike ride has more than doubled its target of $10,000 in aid of a miscarriage support organisation.

Organised by Leanne Polglase, the Biker Bears four day ride raised more than $21,000 for Bears of Hope.
Bears of Hope’s mission is to provide comfort and support to those who have experienced the loss of a baby during pregnancy, birth and infancy.
It came about after Ms Polglase suffered three miscarriages in the space of 12 months.
Bears of Hope helped her through the pain of losing a baby, so she wanted to give back.
A total of 19 riders and three support crew took part in the 400km ride from Coffs Harbour to Kurri Kurri from October 12 to 16.
The ride took in Kempsey, Taree and Bulahdelah before the team were met at the Station Hotel, Kurri Kurri by about 200 supporters on the Sunday.
Ms Polglase said she was so proud of her whole team for not just the funds they collected but the awareness they helped raise about miscarriage.
“It makes me feel really good,” she said.
Ms Polglase said everyone had such a good time that they are already preparing to ride again next year.
