A woman who was struck by a bus near a Queanbeyan primary school during school-drop off was lucky to escape deadly injuries, police have said.

Queanbeyan Police are investigating how the 66-year-old woman came to be hit by the bus near St Gregory's Primary School on Cooma Street about 9am on Monday.
Inspector Michael Handley said the bus was attempting to park in a bus zone outside the school when it hit the woman.
It is unclear whether the bus was occupied with school children at the time.
The woman suffered non life-threatening injuries, Inspector Handley said. She was taken to Queanbeyan District Hospital but is now understood to be at the Canberra Hospital.
Traffic was heavy outside the school at the time due to a road closure further along Cooma Street.
"We've already spoken to the bus driver but we'd like anyone who might have witnessed the incident to come forward," Inspector Handley said.
