Officers had tried to arrest Colin John Campbell, 40, at his home at the All Seasons Tourist Park on Wednesday night.
Campbell had allegedly sent several threatening messages to his wife of 10 years earlier in the day.
The texts had followed a violent assault in July where he kicked and punched the woman as she cowered on the ground, which left her in extreme pain with a broken tailbone.
He had also grabbed the woman by her throat and pushed her against a wall at their Glenroy home on September 23.
As the woman tried to leave, Campbell punched her in the head three times, which was witnessed by one of their children.
Police seized the guns from the house after that assault and the 40-year-old moved into the caravan park.
Officers went to his caravan about 8.30pm on Wednesday night.
It’s alleged he had breached an apprehended violence order by sending the texts, but Campbell was not keen to be taken into custody.
He barricaded himself inside the caravan and refused to leave.
Police negotiators urged him to come out and specialist officers were brought in amid concerns he would self-harm.
The stand-off came to an end when police forced their way inside about 2am.
Campbell was much calmer during an appearance at Albury Local Court on Thursday.
He looked dejected while sitting in the dock wearing an orange high-visibility shirt and jeans, and stared at the floor.
Campbell sought bail through his lawyer to live at his brother’s home in Griffith.
He was already on bail following the assaults against his wife.
The court heard he was concerned about property at the caravan which had been left unsecured following his arrest, and wanted counselling.
Magistrate Michael Price wasn’t satisfied he had shown the need for his release and refused bail.
Campbell will return to court on November 7.
