The school’s senior team Revolution Racing finished first in the NSW F1 in Schools competition.
Revolution Racing also won prizes for best Team Verbal Presentation, Best Team Marketing, Best Engineered Car, Knockout Racing Champions and Best Innovation Award.
The result has pushed the team through to the national championships, which will take place in either South Australia or Victoria early next year.
If their success continues, they will have the opportunity to represent Australia at the F1 in Schools world championships.
The team has competed at nationals twice before, but qualified through a wild card entry.
Four of the five members of last year’s team returned for the competition this year – Connor Mitchinton, Daniel Lambkin, Jack Stephenson and Liam Whiteley.
It is the first time a team from the school has ever won the state championship in the 12 years they have competed.
The junior team, Screamin’ Demons, gained third place at their first state championship.
The team was made up of year eight students Ben Galvin, Tobias Astill-King, Harley Patterson, Martin Cathcart and Fei-Fei Webster.
F1 in Schools coordinator Mark Bassett said the students performed “brilliantly”.
“I’m extremely proud, the boys put in 100 per cent effort,” he said.
He said the older team “had perfection in the back of their minds” throughout the competition, and allowed for zero mistakes.
However, he said they will need to work on their social media presence as marketing makes up some of the scoring in the national competition.

Mr Bassett said the year eight team went into the competition to experience, have fun and learn as much as they could.
He said third place was definitely not something they were aiming for, so they were excited by the result.
Principal Desley Pfeffer said it was a great achievement for both teams.
“This is an outstanding result from a group of very talented young students and fantastically dedicated staff,” she said.
