The competition will take place at the Country Women’s Association rooms at 163 Vincent Street on Monday, November 21.
Any NSW resident can enter the competition – you don’t have to be a member of the CWA.
“We are calling for keen home cooks of all ages and standards to get their aprons on and give it a go,” CWA Cessnock Evening Branch publicity officer Jaclyn Harvey said.
“We had some fabulous entries in 2015 and want to keep this great opportunity going.
“We hope to get as many entries as possible this year to keep the art of baking alive and well in this great community of ours.”
Entry is just 80 cents.
Categories include cakes, biscuits, jams, relish and cake decorating.
There are even sections for young competitors (under-18s and under-12s).
All entrants are asked to arrive at 6.30pm for judging to commence at 7pm.
The cookery schedule and recipes are available online at cwaofnsw.org.au/cookery, on the branch’s Facebook page and in hard copy at The Advertiser office (155 Vincent Street, Cessnock).
First and second prize winners at branch level will be eligible to enter the group semi-finals, and winners at group level will qualify for the state final (which will be conducted at the CWA Annual General Conference in May 2017).
