Across Australia they are November’s purple haze, but these magnificent trees are actually Brazilian natives.
From late spring to early summer, jacarandas brighten up the region.
Not all jacaranda trees produce these lovely purple blooms.
There is also a white-flowered form of the tree known as White Christmas, but it is less common.
While the Hunter loves these brilliant blooms, they actually spread all the way up the east coast of the country.
