Orr faced the first ball of the innings against Peden’s Hotel and smashed 15 boundaries and five sixes on his way to his eighth top-grade century before deciding to retire at the drinks interval on 109 at his beloved Carmichael Park.
Meanwhile, club mate Gyler came in at the fall of the third wicket and caressed 16 boundaries on his way to an unbeaten 116 in the second-grade encounter against Supporters Club at Baddeley 1.
The powerful Bellbird first-grade batting line-up really hit top gear in their 195-run demolition of Peden’s Hotel at Carmichael Park.
Orr’s fine century was well backed up by Ben Fairlie (65), Joe Main (42), Luke Weekes (39 not out), Nic Siers (32) and Stef Durie (31) who all found batting fairly comfortable.
The Tigers amassed what must be an association record 6-351 in the 40-over format.
Matt Hopley (2-65 off 10 overs), Cal Barry (2-95 off 10) and skipper Mick James (2-41 off 5) all took a brace of wickets each for Peden’s in the trying conditions.
In pursuit of the mammoth total the Piranhas were dismissed in the 29th over for 156.
Matt Capper played beautifully for 72 at the top of the order, with Hopley (28) and Justin Barry (15) making starts.
Spin king Dave Gyler (3-5 off 3) and Nic Siers (3-11 off 5) were the Tigers’ best with the four-piece with a treble of wickets each.
Mulbring continued to tick all the boxes as they shrugged off a gallant and ever-improving Wine Country by three wickets at Allandale.
Batting first Wine Country compiled a competitive 170, however, in hindsight they probably paid the ultimate price for not batting their full number of overs.
They were dismissed in the 36th over, with Dave Farrell clubbing 54 in a fine half century. Mark O’Hara (26), Stephen Hedger (22), Steve Abel (20) and Shane Morley (17 not out) all kept the ink flowing on the scorecard for the home side.
Cameron Ross was Mulbring’s best with the ball, claiming 4-42 off 10, with Greg Sheehan (2-15 off 8) and Darren Sutton (2-38 off 5) picking up a brace of wickets each.
The Marlins were in a spot of bother at 4-32 in reply and an upset was beckoning, but as has been the case a thousand times in the past, a steely 106-run fifth wicket partnership between experienced pair Josh Lewis (76) and Sheehan (62) put the visitors back in the driver’s seat.
Mulbring eventually passed the target (7-173) in the 34th over with three wickets left in the pavilion.
Abel once again proved unending value for the Wood Ducks with bat and ball, bagging 5-24 off 10.
Allan Heath was the other wicket taker with 2-52 off 10.
