“When women arrive at the centre with their children it means they have usually walked away from a situation for the betterment of their family, arriving with only nominal items,” market coordinator Robyn Nolan said.
“With Christmas fast approaching, the Girl Guides wanted to help these families and are handing over their donations of gifts suitable for distribution this Christmas.”
The guides will be at the markets from 9am to 11am to collect donations of non-perishable food, new or quality pre-loved clothing for people aged seven and up, toys or household items.
The refuge is also in need of toilet paper, band aids, cleaning products and sunscreen.
“Kurri Girl Guides appreciate the generosity that the local communities have previously on other occasions supported with their kind donations,” Ms Nolan said.
