Police are appealing for information after a bushfire decimated more than 1200 hectares and threatened homes at Abermain.

About 12.45pm on Tuesday emergency services were called to the vicinity of Melbourne and Forbes Street, Abermain, following reports of a large bushfire.
The fire threatened nearby homes and caused significant damage to bushland, however it eventually burnt out.
Police from Central Hunter Local Area Command are investigating the incident and would like to speak to three people who could help with their inquiries.
Two are described as being male and about 183centimetres tall. One is described as wearing a shirt and the other was shirtless.
A third person, a juvenile, was also seen leaving the area on a trike.
No houses were damaged during the incident and investigations continue.
