Hunter Valley Gardens’ Christmas Lights Spectacular continues until Australia Day – as does Mega Creatures event, showcasing some of Australia’s largest animatronic bugs and dinosaurs.

Wild Learning will host mind-nourishing workshops including meditation for kids and parents at Wollombi School (January 17); meditation for teens at Cessnock Yoga Centre (January 17); an Aboriginal art family creative workshop at Wollombi School (January 23) and ‘calm and confident kids’ at Cessnock Yoga Centre (January 25).

PCYC Cessnock is offering gymnastics, tumbling and trampolining classes, as well as a multi-sports program in which children can come and try a range of sports and activities.

The PCYC’s indoor skate park has also been a big drawcard during the holidays.

Active kids will also enjoy what’s on offer at Cessnock Toyota Stadium, with multi-sport camps on January 17 and 19 (including basketball, volleyball, futsal, dodgeball and other fun games).

Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Libraries will be hosting several activities including XBox and board games; cartooning, mask-making and robotics coding workshops, science experiments and more.

Cessnock Regional Art Gallery will hold school holiday workshops, including movie making (January 16), pirate and princess art (January 17), jewellery making (January 23) and card making (January 24).

Cessnock Leagues Club is holding a kids’ club every Friday in January from 10am to 12.30pm, with different themes and activities each week.
