WSCET representatives met with Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter and Central Coast, Scot Macdonald last week to determine the best way to approach the government about retaining the school site in community ownership.
WSCET president Frank Ganino said the outcome of the meeting suggested the best approach for the community is to appeal directly to the deputy premier.
Mr Ganino is urging people to Mr Barilaro, “stating the significance of the school site and it’s intrinsic value to Wollombi Village and the community”.
The school closed in December 2014 and a property disposal plan is being prepared for the site.
