Cessnock firm Insite Planning lodged a proposal for a pub and function centre on Wine Country Drive on January 4.
The development would also incorporate a bistro, gaming facilities and drive-through bottle shop. It would provide at least 16 full-time equivalent jobs.
Located between North Rothbury and Branxton, Huntlee is the Hunter’s first new town in more than 50 years, with a projected population of 21,000 residents.
A Coles supermarket, medical centre and childcare facility are also planned for the town centre.
Civil works began at the site in November and are due to be completed by the end of this year, while construction of some of the new facilities is expected to start by September.
The development application for the pub is on exhibition with Cessnock City Council until February 2.
