Unchained Melody focuses on Pool’s traumatic break-up with fellow musician Harry Hookey, which led to a debilitating bout of depression that threatened to end her budding career.  The 25-year-old articulated that emotional journey in her critically-acclaimed second album Deep Dark Savage Heart last year.

The program features interviews with Pool and Hookey as well as music luminaries Rodriguez, Shane Nicholson and Ella Hooper and examines some of Pool’s darkest moments when her parents found her sobbing and banging her head in the shower.

“It was almost as if I was in a glass bubble and people were talking to me and I could hear them and I could hear what they were saying but it wasn’t sinking in,” Pool says in the program.
