The group is for people with an intellectual, cognitive or learning disability, and their support persons, advocates or carers.
IDRS Cessnock peer connector Michael Murphy said the group will meet fortnightly and cover a range of topics such as self-esteem building, goal setting and NDIS planning.
Mr Murphy said the network is “fun, free and supportive”.
He said the group will allow people to explore their goals and dreams, learn about self-advocacy and speaking up for yourself, and get easy-to-understand information about the NDIS.
The group will meet at the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre seniors room every second Friday at 1.45pm, starting March 3.
The meetings are free and refreshments are included.
