But two months ago, the Windella boy started experiencing seizures and has since been diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Renowned neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo is willing to operate as soon as possible and is confident he can remove the tumour.
However, the surgery and hospital stay is expected to cost about $100,000.
Friends of the Bujka family have rallied to get young Oli the help he needs as quickly as possible, organising a fundraising night that will be held at Cessnock Leagues Club on March 27.
It’s been an emotional time for the family-of-five and they have been overwhelmed by the support they have received.
Oli’s parents Melissa and Robert are lost for words to express their sincere appreciation for all involved in helping their family – no matter how big or small their contribution has been.
“Everyone has gone above and beyond what Robert and I could ever imagined,” Mrs Bujka said.
“We would really like to let each and every person and business who are helping that we appreciate and are very thankful for what you have done for our beautiful Oli Lolly.”
The Bujkas work hard at their local businesses – Gourmet Pizza Cessnock and Rutherford – and are proud to give back to the community.
“Now we as a community have a chance to give back by helping their beautiful boy Oli,” family friend Danielle Towner said.
“Melissa and Robert are the most amazing parents and treasure their three boys.
“They are the most generous, kind and loving people you will ever meet.
“Melissa and Robert will always do everything in their power to help anyone, anyway they can.
“And now its time for us to pay that forward and help our gorgeous Oli.”
‘Oli Lolly’s FUNdraiser’ will be held at Cessnock Leagues Club on Monday, March 27 from 6pm to 9pm.
All proceeds will go towards Oli’s medical expenses.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids, which includes finger food and a dessert bar, plus entertainment including a magician.
There will also be lots of raffles, prizes and auctions on the night.
Tickets can be bought at the Leagues Club or online at cessnockleagues.com.au.
