The university ordered an external review of the nursing school after a Herald investigation in July last year, but continuing concerns led to staff and students speaking out again last week.
The head of the Nursing School, Professor Sally Chan, wrote to students this week, saying she “would like to meet you and answer your queries in person” in an hour-long forum.
The Ourimbah campus forum is on Friday at 10am, followed by the Callaghan campus forum at 3pm. The Port Macquarie campus forum is on Monday at 11am.
In her letter, Professor Chan said the Herald report was “very demoralising, both for the students and staff”.
“To date the school has always found clinical placements for students who are verified and compliant with requirements,” Professor Chan said.
“We are committed to continue to provide you with appropriate placements.”
