EARLIER REPORT 1.32PM
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been called to assist a dirt bike rider who was injured in bushland near Aberdare on Monday afternoon.
A spokesperson of the helicopter service said paramedics were taken to the accident scene by four-wheel drive and at this stage a stretcher winch recovery will take place.
The helicopter landed in a nearby clearing as the accident scene was not accessible.
Earlier, a 13-year-old was flown from John Hunter Hospital to Westmead Children's Hospital suffering facial burns.
The patient sustained the burns in the Upper Hunter after accelerant was thrown on a fire, the helicopter said.
More to come.
