The outstanding tribute show has been running for more than 20 years, including a six-year residency at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas (where it was named best tribute show in Las Vegas by the prestigious Las Vegas Review Journal in 2015).
After more than 6000 performances in over 50 countries, the Australian Bee Gees Show has become the definitive live celebration of the wonderful music written by the Brothers Gibb.
Michael Clift, who plays Barry Gibb, says the show is “constantly evolving”.
The show started in Melbourne in 1996 and had a successful run in Asia before moving onto Vegas, where it plays 52 weeks a year with a rotating lineup, allowing it to tour at the same time.
“It’s a great experience in Vegas, performing six nights a week, it really hones the show,” he said.
The latest tour celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Bee Gees’ iconic Saturday Night Fever album, the most successful soundtrack of all time.
The first half of the show pays tribute to the One Night Only show of 1997, while the second half takes the audience back to the disco era.
“It’s a lot of fun,” Clift said.
“We tap into the nostalgia that people feel for the Bee Gees.”
The Australian Bee Gees Show will appear at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre on Friday, May 19 at 8pm.
Tickets are on sale at the CPAC box office, by phone on 4993 4266 or online at cessnockperformingartscentre.com.au.
