About 50 girls and women of all ages attended the fundraising night at Hope Valley Church’s Front Room on Friday night.
The event included a stall from Sister and Soul, and a Mother’s Day raffle.
Funds raised on the night will go towards the church’s Hope Baskets initiative, which provides food hampers to local people in need.
The Sisterhood was formed in 2012 with the aim to help local women make new connections and friendships while raising awareness and funds for important local causes.
Some of the causes they have supported include Coalfields Cancer Support Group, Cessnock PCYC, Jodie’s Place and Grandparents As Parents and Ugandan schoolgirls.
Sophie Fredericks has taken over as the Sisterhood’s new team leader.
“It’s a great way to give back to the community,” she said.
Upcoming events in 2017 will include a talk with a midwife and a Christmas fundraiser.
