James’s wife Emily owns Radiant Makeup & Beauty in Cessnock, and “volunteered” her husband to take part in the Wax For A Wish campaign, supporting Make-A-Wish Australia.

The organisation grants wishes for children aged three to 18 who are battling life-threatening illnesses.

Six Australian families are told every day that their child has a life-threatening medical condition.

James and Emily – who live at Ellalong – have a three-year-old daughter, Luna, and say they couldn’t imagine what they would do if they were in the same situation.

When Emily came across Wax For A Wish on Facebook, she thought it was the perfect event to support.

She will wax James’s chest, legs and back for the cause. They are aiming to raise $1000.

James said he wasn’t worried at first, but now some people have told him how much it hurts he’s “a bit scared”.

The wax will be livestreamed on Radiant Makeup & Beauty’s Facebook page from 2pm Saturday.
