The ball will make a comeback this year, raising funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA), with Olympic legend Raelene Boyle as the guest speaker.
Ms Boyle represented Australia at three Olympic Games as a sprinter, winning three silver medals. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996 and is a board member of BCNA.
Perfect Pink Ball organiser Katrina Richardson said she was inspired to bring the ball back after this year’s BCNA summit, at which the theme was “Making a Difference”.
“It came to me that is was time for me to organise another event to get people together to help raise much needed funds for this wonderful organisation,” she said.
“As always when I do something it become bigger than I expect but this year I have a committee of dedicated people who are making life easier for me.”
Ms Richardson’s involvement with BCNA goes back to 2003, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
She became a community liaison volunteer for the organisation in 2010.
“To be a community liaison you need to have been affected by breast cancer and be passionate about raising awareness of the impact of breast cancer and the work of BCNA,” she said.
“I have spoken at many functions and attended forums with displays of information on what BCNA do for the community.
“BCNA works to ensure that Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care appropriate to their individual needs, through supporting, informing, representing and connecting Australian affected by breast cancer.
Some of the programs and services run by BCNA include a telephone helpline, print and digital resources, a moderated online community, information forums around Australia, and a specialist secondary breast cancer telephone counselling service.

Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. The dress code is dinner suit and evening wear.
